Toddler toys can make a huge impact on the things your toddler will learn during this crucial time of development. Parents do not want to waste hard earned money on something that will be played with for five minutes, and then thrown in the toy box for life. There are certain things you need to look for when deciding what toys to purchase.

Make sure that toy is age appropriate. A one year old should not be playing with an action figure that is intended for a 6-8 year old. There are numerous reasons for this and the main is safety. These toys have smaller parts and could cause a choking hazard. Toddler toys will also adhere to the 5 senses of your little one and those are: sight, sound, touch, feel, and taste.

Another factor that weighs in when you are trying to decide on a toy is, can it hold your toddlers interest? There are top toddler toys out there that promise the world, but if your little one does not like it-it will go to waste. That is a lot of money sent down the drain. What I do is take my boys with me when we go to the toy store. I find the toy section for their age and see what sparks their interest.

Shapes, textures, and colors are perfect for toddler toys. When a toy has bright and vivid colors it is sure to attract your toddler’s attention. If you have ever noticed that children at a young age like to put everything into their mouths. This is just them exploring with their senses.  Educational toys will be you best bet, but the right ones can be hard to find, even the unique toddler toys.

Toddler toys that involve and excite the littlest critic will be the ones that make the biggest impact on their development in this stage of their life. Every toy will not be perfect, but it is those few that we all are looking for.

I have always looked for the best learning toys available to try to help my toddler develop, and remember these do not have to cost an arm and a leg.
